Getting to the starting point

The recommended starting point is the Madlenerhaus.

By public transportation:

Trains and buses run regularly between the towns, every half hour or every hour, depending on the route. You can find the right connections in the cleVVVer mobil schedule app. Bus stop for continuing on to the Silvretta-Bielerhöhe: Partenen Bergbahnen. From the bus stop, it’s about a five-minute walk to the Vermuntbahn valley station. You can then take the Vermuntbahn and the tunnel bus to the Silvretta-Bielerhöhe and Lake Silvretta.

By car:
Take the A14 to the Bludenz/Montafon exit. Then follow Montafonerstraße L188 to Partenen and the Vermuntbahn valley station. Free parking is available at the Vermuntbahn valley station. From there, you can take the Vermuntbahn and the tunnel bus up to the Silvretta-Bielerhöhe.

Important Information

You'll find restrooms and places to stop for a bite to eat at the Madlenerhaus.

You can use the cross-country ski trails in the Montafon for free. Please note, however, that the extended cross-country trails and connecting routes from the Silvretta-Bielerhöhe toward the Paznaun Valley require a fee.

If you don’t have your own gear, there are various options in the Montafon for renting winter sports equipment.

The cross-country ski trails are groomed by the respective municipalities or mountain railways, depending on weather and snow conditions. A sufficient and stable snow cover is required for machine grooming. The current trail status is updated regularly by the responsible staff on site.

Tips

The long Madlenerhaus trail can be connected to other trails on the Silvretta-Bielerhöhe. This allows you to customize the length of your cross-country ski loop based on your fitness level and available time.

Its high-alpine location at over 2,000 meters above sea level makes this loop a special cross-country skiing experience with impressive views of the snow-covered mountains of the Silvretta.
