An Overview of the operating hours of Silvretta-Hochalpenstraße, Tafamunt- and Vermuntbahn

Summer season 2024

Silvretta-Hochalpenstraße

The Silvretta-Hochalpenstraße is closed to public traffic from Partenen to the Vermuntsee due to a rockfall until autumn 2024! An ascent from the Tyrolean side (Galtür via Bielerhöhe to the Vermuntsee/ access to Saarbrücker Hütte) is possible.

Tafamuntbahn

Monday-Friday
  • from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon and from 1 p.m. to 4.45 p.m. (last descent)
  • Due to construction work, the Tafamuntbahn-Versalspitze hiking trail is closed during the week, which is why the early rides to the mountain station are cancelled on these days.
Saturday & Sunday
  • from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon and from 1 p.m. to 4.45 p.m. (last descent)
  • For tours to the Versalspitze, the cable car runs to the mountain station from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

 

Due to urgent rock work at the Tafamuntbahn mountain station that cannot be postponed, opening hours will be restricted from 5 August 2024. Thank you for your understanding.

  • One ascent at 7:30 a.m. and one at 7:45 a.m., no further rides
  • Due to construction work, the Tafamuntbahn-Versalspitze hiking trail is closed during the week, so the mountain station is not served on these days.

Vermuntbahn and tunnel bus

Daily operation from 25 December 2024 - 01 May 2025

8.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon and from 01.00 p.m. to 04.00 p.m.

  • Last ascent from Partenen to Bielerhöhe: 4.00 p.m.
  • Last descent from Bielerhöhe to Partenen (tunnel bus): 4.00 p.m.

The natural ice surface of the Silvrettasee is closed to all traffic!
