Getting to the Silvretta-Bielerhöhe
The Silvretta-Bielerhöhe forms the valley end of the Montafon in Vorarlberg.
Getting there in summer

Due to the rockfall last summer, construction and safety measures are still necessary on the Vorarlberg side of the Silvretta-Hochalpenstraße. As a result of these additional rock stabilization works, access from the Vorarlberg side remains closed.
As an alternative connection from the Vorarlberg side to the Silvretta-Bielerhöhe, the Vermuntbahn (including tunnel bus) will be open daily from August 9, 2025.
No restrictions on the Tyrolean side - Access to the Silvretta-Bielerhöhe from the Tyrolean side via the Silvretta-Hochalpenstraße is possible without restrictions all the way to the Vermuntsee. The restaurants on the Bielerhöhe are open and look forward to your visit.
For hikes in the Verwall Mountains, for example to the Wiegensee, take the Tafamuntbahn in Partenen.
Getting there in winter

The Vermuntbahn in Partenen will take you to Trominier in just 5 minutes. From there, continue on small buses through tunnels and the wintry high mountain landscape of the Silvretta up to the Bielerhöhe at 2,032 m.
You see, already the journey to the Silvretta-Bielerhöhe is a real experience, see for yourself – Video arrival in winter.

There is a daytime parking space in front of the Restaurant Silvrettasee, which can be used free of charge for all day guests. Parking along the Silvretta-Hochalpenstraße is not allowed.
Overnight stays in camper vans are not permitted. We would recommend Camping Zeinis, which is very close by.
If you are staying overnight at a hut, you have the possibility to park your car on the gravelled parki on the left-hand side (coming from Partenen) before you reach the Bielerhöhe. In the toll area it depends on where you stay overnight. If you stay at the Saarbrücker, Tübinger or Wiesbadener Hütte, the exit would be free of charge if you have a stamped toll receipt (take your hut receipt with you). The toll is actually only valid for 24 hours.
If you leave the toll area and stay the night at the Heilbronner Hütte or at the Jamtalhütte, we ask you to carry the toll ticket with you and show the receipts at the tollgate (confirmation of overnight stay), so that you receive a reduction for the return trip.
